I have decided that the Kirk and Spock relationship, from the original Star Trek, shall be dubbed the 'Huggy Bear' relationship. [I am a Spock/Uhura shipper, mind you. I don't think Kirk and Spock have a 'slash' relationship. Just a huggy one!]

I got second place on the theme section on sj_everyday . Whoo second place! [Ok, so I tied but meh...] It was a really basic icon too... Banner will be here... when I'm feeling less lazy.

Also, Adison is love... hence the icon. So is their duet, hence what I'm listening to...

Really proud of myself, I got the hang of lj cuts, text formatting and putting images into lj posts. Yay me!!

WARNING: THIS POST IS INCREDIBLY RANDOM. IT SKIPS ALL OVER THE PLACE AND WAS WRITTEN AT HALF TWO IN THE MORNING AND ALSO AFTER A BSG S4.5 OVERLOAD. IT MAY MAKE NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!

Just thought I'd let you know...

*sigh* It's over. Battlestar Galactica is really over. I watched it hours ago and I'm still speechless. Over the last two days I've watched the last 6 or so eps of BSG and wow did it end with a bang. I can't believe the way everything ended.

Speaking of icons, I got Mod's Choice in challenge 99 over at sj_everyday. In the Theme bit, rather than the Cap one this time though. I'll get around to dong my challenge 100 ones later.

Isis Awards winners were announced recently. I didn't win (*sadface*) but the ones that beat me were really good, so meh.

PS. Jayne and Chris should skate to 'Cinderella Rockafella' on DOI. Not only cause it's a funny song, but also cause I would love to see their faces when they have to skate to a song they sang. I love their album, some of the songs are so catchy! (Though they sound like my parents, which is weird.)

EDIT: Ooh I totally forgot, but someone actually explained to me, the other day, on how to do LJ cuts. I'll figure out how to use them properly later...

You know, you'd think after 12 years of school (not counting Kindergarten and Preschool) I'd be sick of it already. You wouldn't think that I'd go back and do more, would you? Because, funnily enough, that's exactly what I've done.

My best friend was always on my case last year because I didn't know what I was gonna do. Everyone was talking about University or jobs and actually putting in applications and whatnot for them, but I was just focussing on getting to the end of year 12. My best friend would always ask me why I wasn't interested in my future and I would tell him that I would get there when I got there. Well, I've gotten there! I have actually enrolled in a course in TAFE and have also talked to the relevant people about volunteering for part of it. And the funny thing is that after all this, I haven't talked to my best friend in weeks... I want him to know that I actually have a direction in my life now, and that he can stop worrying, but he never talks to me. He's always preoccupied with other people. I guess I'm jealous, which is weird, because I never get jealous. I'm just not that sort of person. But I am now slightly. I guess I took last year, and our really close friendship for granted, and now I miss it. And him. He was my very best friend.

Anyway, enough of my emoing... I've actually finally gotten back to entering the sj_everyday icontests again. I did one last week, and today I put my entry in for this week's one. Last week, my entry paid off - I got Mod's Choice for one of my cap icons! (Yay me!! lol) And so I have another pretty banner to show off.

And ohmyapplepies has anyone been watching American Idol? Simon and Paula are being so cute this season! And we got a kiss! A kiss on the cheek, but who cares?? And it's been very Team Saula and Team Kandy for the interaction. Not in terms of shipping, (well at least not for Kara and Randy) but just with the fact that Simon and Paula are all wispery and flirty with each other, so that leaves Kara and Randy to kinda talk and support each other's critiques. But it has been a lot of fun

I should actually go to bed now (you know, with it being 2:44am and all...)

PS. Wonder when we're gonna hear anything about the Isis Awards? I've been checking every day since the 14th, but there's nothing yet. The suspense is killing me...

So, after figuring out html coding for posting pictures, and entering the icontest over on sj_everyday one of my icons got third in the Theme category! I'm feeling very proud of myself!

Now lets see if I can remember how to do the codes still, cause I have a pretty banner to show off! It'll probably take me ages...




On the topic of contests, I'm still waiting with baited breath to see how my stories in the Isis Awards went... I had four stories (my Evan/Laura mini-series type thingy) nominated.

And lastly, yay for BSG and American Idol being back!

So today I figured out how to put pictures in my LJ posts. Yay me!

I needed to because I entered some icons in the sj_everyday  icontest thingy. I'm so proud of myself! (Should I say 'yay me' again? :P)

Wow... I posted a Sanctuary fanfic the other day and I realised, after looking at all the other fanfic for Sanctuary, that I may be the first person to write blatant Will/Helen. Ever.

It's a weird feeling.

I also realised that I may be the only one to write a Merlin/Morgan le Fay (From Stargate) story ever. That is just as equally weird.

Hey all, how've you all been? I've been good. School is time consuming as usual.

Has anyone been keeping track of American Idol this season so far? There's some good talent this year, especially from the guys. I already like about half of them. Mostly Danny. I adored him from the moment he auditioned. I hope he goes far. I also like Amanda, she's got a good voice. Top 24 results show is on this evening, and I'm really looking forward to that!

...Not many other shows are on for me to keep track of at the moment. I'm glad the WGA were able to come to an agreement and end the strike

So.. very early this morning I read a story that made me cry. Well almost cry. That in turn gave me an idea for an SGA drabble. It's Sparky and it's sad, so be warned.

Um... yeah. Not many people are really gonna come here, are they?

Anyways, I'm Lyss. Although some of you may know me as either HopelessRomantic (on Gateworld) or HopelessRomanticLyssa (on fanfiction.net). I'm a highschool girl who's imature, ships obsessively and giggles too much.

It's kinda cool to finally stop lurking and get my own LJ. My best friend convinced me to get one so I could post my wonderful stories... or so he says!

I still have to deal with school (*grumbles*) for a bit so all posts in here will be sporadic, as will any fanfics.

I'm hoping to make some friends, so don't be shy (thats my job!)
